Amanda Porter is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado, Boulder specializing in Organizational Communication. Her research focuses on the intersection of organizing processes and technology studies. Amanda has pursued these interests in the arena of disaster response, examining group emergence and the structuring effects of technology. She has won awards for this scholarship from the International Communication Association. Amanda received her B.S. in Communication Studies and M.A. in Organizational Communication from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently teaches Organizational Communication and Communication, Technology, and Society. She is also a research assistant for the Arts & Sciences Support of Education Through Technology Program (ASSETT) program at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
